The Professional Athletic Training program at the University of Connecticut is unrivaled in its ability to expose students to diversified clinical education experiences with a focus in intercollegiate athletics, non-traditional settings, youth sports and many others. Coupled with world leading experts in the fields of qualitative research, sport safety and biomechanics students gain first hand experiences along side researchers at the Korey Stringer Institute (KSI), and the Sport Optimization and Rehabilitation (SOAR) lab.), students will gain a comprehensive educational experience, allowing them to immediately contribute to the delivery of quality patient-centered care.

The Korey Stringer Institute (KSI)
The mission of the Korey Stringer Institute is to provide research, education, advocacy and consultation to maximize performance, optimize safety and prevent sudden death for the athlete, warfighter and laborer.
KSI is partnered with the National Football League (NFL), Gatorade, National Athletic Trainers’ Association(NATA), Camelbak, Kestrel, Mission, HeartSmart.com and Eagle Pharmaceuticals to further advance its efforts and goals.
Sport Optimization and Rehabilitation Laboratory (SOAR)
The UConn Sport Optimization and Rehabilitation (SOAR) laboratory is a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary research division focused on the domains of human performance, injury prevention, health and safety, and personalized medicine.
The mission of SOAR is to promote lifelong physical activity to improve health and wellness through research, performance, and community outreach, for physically active individuals at risk for, or suffering from musculoskeletal injuries.
